Salt works best on Ich and does not harm the majority of fish.
It won't push sick
fish over the edge, and it Eliminates 7 of the 9 Parasites.
Salt doesn't get bound out of the system by organics or sunlight.
It doesn't pose
a health risk to humans who come into contact with it. It is inexpensive and won't
harm your filter.
The list of parasites Salt kills is impressive; Costa, Chilodinella, Epistylis, Scyphidia, Glossatella,
Ichthyophthirius (Ich) and it can clear the surface ulcerations caused by Terahymena.
Salt can clear new introductions of the above parasites when used as a 3.0% dip
(with the possible exception of Ich,
which can resist dipping while encysted in the skin).
Anchor Worm reproduction is quelled in 0.3% salt, but
Dimilin is preferable for
